National Concealed Carry permit

Joseph,

The below post was the one I was referring to, when Underdog made it all he knew about Amax is that Amax had said that he is /was a law enforcement officer. Just being a law enforcement officer does not make you one of the bad ones, Underdog even said that "the vast majority of law enforcement are barney fifes"; we all know that this is just a gross exaggeration for literary effect as there is absolutely no way that the vast majority of law enforcement would fall into that stereotype and there is no way under the sun that Underdog has meet the vast majority of LEO's in order to come to such a conclusion, even if the vast majority of LEO's that he has actually meet would be "barney fifes" we all know that he has not meet all LEO's.

So amex you were or are such a bad barney you are scared to shut your eyes without a pistol in your hand. You should take some lessons on correct edict from LEO. Btw stupid dont threaten me.

I think dog was talking more about the barney fifes types like the trooper who wrote me a warning ticket for no seat belt after he just got done reading my seat belt wavier issued by my doctor under the law. Or the Trooper who rear ended a couple on 421 at dusk while going in excess of 100 MPH with no lights or serein.

Underdog,

I wasn't defending myself, or the profession as you have made your mind up about those in law enforcement, I was pointing out that you made an extremely erroneous assumption regarding Amax and for those that know him, your statement made you look foolish.

Leo its not my bias, nor my judgement clouded when it comes to barneys. It has been proven over and over again on this site that the vast majority of law enforcement are barney fifes. Ashe county was made a laughing stock with show and the star hog.

If you were to notice I have not said one ill word toward you personally. You conduct yourself professionally and courteously on this site. When you give respect you will receive respect.

Underdog,
Don't let your bias toward those in the law enforcement profession cloud your judgment, I know you don't me and I'm sure you don't know Amax, but I've know him for nearly 30 years, he's very knowledgeable on all things firearms related and a former concealed carry instructor, he's a straight arrow and doesn't mince his words, he may come across as rough around the edges, but I know that if I or any of his friends needed anything I know he wouldn't hesitate to do all he could do to help, this he has demonstrated many times. Amax served honorably until an on the job injury forced him into retirement, but like he said, he's easily found.

I was wearing a badge before hoppy was born and my wife passed away in a car accident. would have loved to see you try to entertain her. She would give you a 230 grain enema.

I fully support all forms of carry but after seeing some of the ones that open carry here in Wilkes I understand the concern. I don't open carry unless I'm hunting are heading to and from where I hunt. I'll walk in a gas station with it strapped on but not in a store like Walmart. The people that open carry I have meet act like they are looking for an excuse to use their pistol and that bothers me. I do not want to be standing in a checkout line that gets robbed just to have my kids and I to get caught in the cross fire. The chances are if no one does anything stupid the robber will take a few dollars and just run. If there is a Wyatt Earp wannabe in the store a innocent person will get hurt by an untrained shooter. It takes a lot to be able to handle a gun under fire without losing your cool by spray and pray. The only ones on here that are able to control their self in a high stress gun fight would be most cops and our war vets. Everyone else I'd say no and if you carry you better think about the what if. The what if better not be filled with the dream of being a gun slinging hero and if it does you should not carry. Often times the smartest move is to not pull your firearm. I don't want to kill anyone and that is why I don't carry.

So did that prize pig Hoppy teach you all you know about being a barney? Why would I want to find you? Do you have a hot wife that would like to entertain the dog?

Recently I saw a guy at wal mart with some type of radio on his belt. He was wearing a 19111 hammer down in a cheap nylon holster with a strap snapped over. So he is either a idiot and has the hammer down on a live round, or he is chamber empty and trying to look cool. Either way he looked like a gober. The only safe way to carry a 1911 is ****ed and locked or chamber empty. If its chamber empty a granny can beat u to death with a cane before you can chamber a round

its a personal choice but I feel open carry draws attention and makes some people nervous. Its legal but high profile. I worked for a chief of police that would write up any officer who had a gun showing in plain clothes. keeping one concealed just makes more sense to me.

Now don't be stupid and say I have a concealed weapon and then start reaching for your permit. That could end badly.

Crypt

Leo is correct, if you open carry you don't even have to give a leo your name. If you're concealed carrying
you are required by law to say so and produce your permit upon request by the leo.
